I haven't been on the forums in quite a while. I thought I would give a check in report.

I have a cat. He's less than a year old and fat as a pig. He plays with Freddie. It's incredibly cute.

I lost Rudy on Oct 6. He was in the early stages of renal failure so we had to stop his NSAID. He went downhill rapidly after that. He did have to go out 2 times during the night in that short period. He couldn't hold it until I could get him outside. When he had his last vet visit I brought a half of a Costco rotisserie chicken with us. He ate it, bones and all. I must have been numb because I was able to pick out his urn and such before we went into the room.

I am on a waiting for a male puppy. The dam is a working search and rescue dog. if the breeder repeats the last breeding the sire is another SAR dog and has his 3. I can never remember the current name for schutzhund. I'm hoping for a puppy in fall but who knows.

Freddie and I have been doing a lot of obedience, rally and tracking. I can't run agility any longer. My back can't take it. Freddie's tracking reminds of the old "Do or do not. there is no try." She says do not.

So sorry to hear that you've lost Rudy.
But what an amazing way to go, eating up a whole half of a rotisserie chicken. It's nice to hear that you're on a waiting list for a new puppy. You're a step ahead of me, I lost my Blomma on Christmas Day, and I'm looking for a new Lapphund, but haven't gotten as far as getting on a waiting list yet. At least our homes aren't completely empty, you have Freddie, and a cat, and I have 2 cats.

I'm sorry that you lost Blomma and what a horrible way to spend Christmas.

I got on the waiting list when I knew I would be losing Rudy sooner than later.

I hope you find a Lapphund. Even if there is a wait at least it gives you something on which to focus.

Hi there, sorry to hear about Rudy but I gathered from some of your comments elsewhere. My big grey fella went in September but not really ready to talk about it yet/my coping mechanism is to not think about it. I've not put anything on the other place yet.

Best wishes for the potential new arrival. It's IGP 😉

Thanks everyone for your kind words about my Rudy. I think what is keeping going is the thought of the puppy.

Off to train Freddie and then walk on the frozen ground. Frozen = not mud.
