My mare was getting midge bites in her ears so I got her a fky mask with ears.
She obviously doesn't like it because every time I've brought her in she's managed to get the mask off.
This morning when I turned her out I watched her, she trotted off to the group, put her head down to graze and when she lifted it back up againg the fly mask was gone!
No rubbing, no trying to get it off, nothing!
Considering I've been gradually doing it up tighter to prevent her getting it off it's pretty impressive.
I think the problem is it has a nose net - as she rubs her muzzle along the floor it pulls the mask off over her head.
As I didn't want a nose net anyway (but couldn't find a mask wothout one) I will be chopping an inch off the bottom tonight to see if that helps.

Plait some of her mane behind her ears and tie the mask to the plait - you will hve to sew some tape to the top of the mask.

That should keep the little houdini in her net.

Bentleys fly mask has a hole for his forelock. I plait a chunk of his forelock with a chunk of his mane over the top of the mask to hold it on. He used to pull it off on the fence, I would find it sat on top of a fence post!

mine just wear them. Both of them, different types of mask. No visible attempts to remove them.

B has an aerborn one with a big space for her eyes so it doesn't irritate her as she has allergies, held on by single piece velcro and L has one that covers her ears too as she has bald patches from flies, hers ties in a bow under her throat and chin.

Both come to me to have them put on and stand nicely with no headcollar while I do it. Are my ponies defective??
