My instructor is amazing!

At my old yard I had many lessons and after a year of them nothing really changed not performace wise anyway, now at another yard and I have been schooling her so has my instructor and he tells me to do everything my last one told me not too and my mare is going amazing.

I noticed it more the other night, it felt like I had jumped on a different horse, she was using her brain to correct her self and had so much confidence over show jumps, usually shes only ever really confident on the XC but this was in the school.

So thrilled so my post is a thank you to my instructor!!!

Lovely to hear!! So often all we get are the moans on here so nice to have a positive thread!

I started jumping lessons of a sort with my YO'ers 16 (then) year old daughter, she has been leaping over things since she could walk so didn't care how old she was and in the 2 years she's been helping me I've gone from never jumping (I was 40 then!!!) to doing 90m comps and winning them!!!!! All on a hairy cob with a middleaged handicap!! Lol!!

Just last night he took a flier over a 1m straight (I closed my eyes..think that didn't help his confidence!!) and he really leapt it and she shouted 'OMG 1 year ago you'd have been on the floor but you didn't even move!!!!! You have BALANCE now!!!' Lol!! I'll always be grateful for her giving me the confidence and ability to enjoy even more with my lad!!!:D

Good for you, It doesnt matter how old you are or the breed of your horse if you can do and you enjoy doing it then why not! Pleased you have found your confidence.

I must say I had a confidence issue I was used to jumping 1m around about that then one day had a bad accident and mum and i went to a competion a year later and I balled my eyes out in a competion ring at a course of 70 - 80 cm fences but it takes time to re-build now Ill xc 1meter schooling (not competion I hasent to add!)

keep the confidence building and a good instructor is vital I feel
