Do you have to use an english saddle to enter an unaffiliated dressage test?

The reason im asking is that i am having problems getting a saddle to fit & stay upright on my rotund no withered appy so have booked her in to be fitted by a saddle company saddle fitter to try a cob saddle on with balance straps. Only thing is, she isnt coming until after the dressage comp,
I have a western saddle which fits her perfectly, but can i ride her in it? Is there an actual rule that states it has to be english?
Cant find anything from googling.

If the competition is being run under BD rules, which most are, you must use an English style saddle, if not under BD rules I would phone the venue and ask, you could always go HC as I have seen when people want to use a bitless bridle.

thanks, its actually us that is running it! but with a proper dressage judge, be a shame if i have to enter HC but looks like i might have to. :(
