i jumped my youngster for the first time today!
i did some polework with him a few weeks ago and then today we went for a group gridwork lesson and he was such a good boy! the weather was awful (think monsoon) and there were 2 other horses in the lesson- and he hasn't ever really worked in a group before. we did mostly grids with a few raised poles and then a teeny x pole at the end. he trotted over this a couple of times and then slammed the brakes on when came in canter and i hit the deck
but then got back on and trotted over a couple more times and then cantered again and he was fine! i think he was just a bit confused the first time and not sure what to do with his legs! the great thing was that all the people watching were making really nice comments about how nice he was and how well he was going
very indulgent post i realise...but i love my little horsey! its his 4th birthday tomorrow so he's getting a day off in the field to celebrate
