I had a breakthrough with twigs dodgey loading whilst practising this morning (trying to do it every opportunity i can) and to be honest I feel a bit stupid because its a really obvious one!
We have tried every trick - feed, lunge lines, a broom, following someone else and the first time they have always worked (although i have never got her straight in - she always has to stand with all 4 feet on the ramp and have a 20 minute think)
So after half an hour of waving her breakfast at her and getting nowhere i put her bridle on and tried that and after a slight pull back and feeling the bit she followed me on straight away. Just to test it wasnt a fluke i did it again and a few more times to boot and she just walked up the ramp with no hesitation whatsoever (something which has never happened before.)
So, heres hoping this is the key to loading her.
I just feel rather silly i havent tried it before!
