I just spent £194 on a snuggy hoods sweetitch rug for Fella. If he breaks it I am going to kill him!
Went for the snuggy, as he has been wearing a boett up until now, but the dastardly midges bite his sheath, so he turns round and bites it (for a horse of his size and stature, he is remarkable flexible. Everybody is amazed when he does it!), resulting in a cut and swollen sheath every summer. Snuggy are trialing sheath covers, so bought a rug, with sheath cover. Hopefully we will beat the midges this summer!

Summer talk already, i like it

If I think of the mud and the snow any longer I think I am going to cry. Hence the forward thinking to summer. It has cheered me up no end. Shortest day today, from then on the days get longer. About bloody time too!

I will do - will try and get some of him in his snowy surroundings before it melts! Trouble is, my dad takes most of the pics, and he hasn't yet gone digital, so they don't go on the comp!
That fencing was horrible - he still has slight scars which remind me daily why I will never again let any horse of mine be turned out in a field with barbed wire fencing.
It's nice to know people want to see pics of him, I have met a lot of people who look down their noses at him because he isn't a tb or warmblood.

i spent a fortune on a snuggy hood turnout hood and the snuggy jams! alot of money but definately worth it!!!!
if they do get broken, the snuggy hood company are really good at repairing them, my mare trashed her turnout hood, they were happy to have it back, i got it back looking like brand new a couple of days after posting it!

There are quite a few heavies in 'museums'/farming attractions, i.e. Hop farm, Farming world, and a lovely shire I look after at Kent life, but personally owned heavies are few and far between, not just here in Kent but countrywide. And an even smaller percentage of us use them as riding horses but I love 'em!
I will try and get some piccies on here before xmas - watch out for a thread in PG!

Why don't you contact some "Sweet Itch" Companies and ask if you could "trial run" some of their products - with a comprehensive report from you after (say) three months? Might help your bank account somewhat.
