I currently ride my mare in this loose ring snaffle
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Large-Lozen...1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1358846565&sr=8-1-fkmr0

I am thinking of changing her to this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Comfort-Sna...4RX4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1358846625&sr=8-1

My reasons are because I feel she does not like the thickness of the one she is in ATM and I don't get a very constant contact (partly my fault too!)

Do you think this would help with these issues?

And is she likely to respect this one anymore when it comes to brakes?! I currently don't have very good brakes when in the school or out in company.

I would try a thinner mouthpiece, if that's where you think the issues stem from, on a much cheaper bit - something like the first one - before parting with the cash for the myler. Or try the bit bank.

As for brakes, well thinner mouthpiece, smaller bearing area, increase in pressure could give you better brakes. It's not a bit I'd use for something I was worried about brakes with but if you're trying to stay dressage legal it's an option.

Thank you, I have found a much cheaper version of the one I was looking at on ebay.
Thanks for you advice! Very helpfull!
