My local Rescue Centre here REHOME for between $250-400 depending on size etc, and that is for a fixed animal. $200 for a cat! Strangely enough they put down more cats and dogs than they re-home.

Personally, I would rather spend the same, or a bit more,on a puppy where I can see the parents and bring it up the way I want to.
