Sorry i know i know, but i have the saddler coming tomorrow and if i dont get a ride in i might actually start getting a bit grumpy!

Ive been waiting weeks for the saddler too - and theyre finally coming tomorrow ( woo! ) So i plan to shovel a track in the menage, its hopefully not too frozen underneath - am worried about snowballs in the feet tho - vaseline doesnt help - is there any other readily available grease i could use? Saddler willl want to see him ridden, but im sure will be reasonable about the amount of work i can do given the weather, and the state of the menage surface.

My boy is a dressage horse, and therefore has glass legs ;)

I would leave the snow on the arena and maybe try vetwrapping his feet? The snow is less abraisive so hopefully the vetwrap will be ok? Prob wouldn't last for ages but maybe long enough to try the saddle? Alternatively hoof boots over his shoes if anyone has any you could borrow?

I turned one of our my ponies out with vet wrap on her feet last year (she's barefoot this year) as she has very deep hooves. It worked a treat :) can definatley recommend it!

thanks guys - i should have invested in some superglue - hit the deck as my horse was quite sharp having not been ridden for 2 weeks! didnt hurt tho - soft snowy landing!! woo!!
