Hello.
l know it might be a silly thing to ask but l have just been on an other new wee wee site
Don,t worry l am still staying with this FAB site or rather form.
The thing is has any one heard of putting MARMITE in horse,s feeds to stop them itching????
l have not but l will try any thing .My cob has itchy legs. l got him the 3 jags which l did not
mind getting plus he as had cream. l all so got pig oil {show ring magic} to day to use from
my nice vet .Plus a really really good cream called Veredus Neo Derma Creme that does work GREAT but when one bit heals he bites another wee bit .l have cut his feathers of .
Sorry if l have sent this to the wrong bit.

Yes marmite,or rather the yeast in it, may help with itchy horses.
A lot of trial and error is involved with skin problems and what works for one may not help another.

Is it mites or allergy, personally I think you need to ask the vet to resolve this, I got some good shampoo from mine, I don't see that pig oil would help, it is used for mud fever.
Can I suggest you get some linseed from Charnwood Milling and see if the skin improves.

Mine does this - bites his legs until they bleed.

Am pretty sure that it isn't mites as he has been treated for them on a number of occasion.
I have come to realise that he does it when his feathers begin to grow. He has very greasy skin which must get blocked by the hair and eventually causes him to itch and scratch.
I manage it by clipping his legs off approx every 6 weeks. As soon as I do this he stops itching. Works for us.

Hello.
Thanks to all who give me tips. yous have helped a lot. to do with the pig oil l know it is
for mud fever but it was my vet who give me it and it was yellow not just plain clear like
l have had in the past.
