waxing up

How soon before foaling please ?

I am asking as i brought my maidan mare into night she is due in about 2 weeks .
she has a small bag and wax on ends of nipples any ideas when i might get to meet her baby ??
 
My maiden waxed up at 325 days, started with greyish/opaque plug, then at 336 days became yellowish amber colour, and she gave birth at 340 days after 2 days of white wax and dripping milk between plugs forming and dropping off! On the last day she ran milk at 18.00hrs and had the foal at 22.45hrs!

My maiden waxed up at 340 days, ran milk at 341 and delivered at 7.20 that night. Couldnt have been better. 1 days warning and a respectible delivery time.

Hi,

we have mares that have foled 1.5 weeks early and 2.5 weels late. Mary the was the last one at 2.5 weeks late and she showed no signes of foaling, gave up on the foal watch at 22.30 as she was eating hay as normal and then at 00.15 the foal alarm went off by the time we switched Mary TV on (CCTV) head & legs were out, 10 mins later the rest was out. by 03.30 the foal was on her feet and had succled twice!

I gess what I am trying to say is that all mares are different. nither showed any sines by waxing up or milk drippping.

Last year my mare waxed on one nipple one day, waxed on the other nipple the next day and had her foal that night.

I'm hoping she does the same this year - it would it so much easier to time everything...........I'm sure I won't be so lucky this year though
 
Not that I want to be one to put a fly in the ointment but like Springs says some mares I've heard can either wax up very quickly before foaling or show no signs at all!!

Just found wax on my mare tonight when I brought her in although she doesn't look big enough (belly wise). She also hasn't got really loving this time so we thought she was a while off yet although her bags are full. So needless to say we are starting to check her during the night now!!! Hopefully it won't be too long although she is currently at 328 days. Bit early considering she was nearly 365 days the last time.
 
My maiden mare first waxed at 326 days with golden wax over the next few days it changed to a white colour, at 332 days it started to drip in between re forming.

Her vulva is relaxed, her bags are pretty full, could fill a bit more, her rump muscles are quite soft and is is at 334 today.
