I like this horse, but...

I think she is restricting it alot with her hands IMO which is why his paces on the flat at times seem choppy and he is nt stretching so much jumping. Just my opinion tho.

I like the look of him, seems to have a good attitude. I wouldn't particularly be worried about stretching down as he seems quite neat in front.

Would love to see what he is capable of with a more sympathetic rider

dwi I'm basically looking for an RC type allrounder to do unaff comps and start BE on this summer, maybe some BSJA in winter. Between 15.2-16.1, 7-11yo, preferably not full TB. (Bet you're sorry you asked!

)

Is there any way I can ask to see him free schooled or loose jumped (to see if it's the rider not him) without offending the rider?

I really like him, and the XC bits of the vid look nice- greatly encouraged by the footage of him in the water, my current ride doesn't like the water splashing up and hitting him on the belly, which make any attempts to go through water faster than a slow walk through water very interesting!

You can but ask. I'm not sure it really matters if you offend the rider slightly, you're not going to have to see them again after you've bought the horse.

I wouldn't be overly worried, ur the buyer, are you wanting a vid of it loose jumping before you go to see it? If not just ride it yourself and see how it feels.

rider has an odd riding style... sort of yanks to get him down which is why i think he looks like hes very short strided and choppy.
def one to look but still prefer the dun!

I like him..jumping..she dosnt lean forward or give with hands so the fact neddy still jumps for her is very honest of him

she looks very fiddly with her hands on the flat, yet he still looks like he trys to please...i would go and try him, with a quiet rider he would probably excel

This person is wanting to sell the horse I presume.......then why oh why is the maker of the video throwing every special effect at it. Changing colour, flashing, repeating, jerkiness etc etc. Just post a straight forward video that can be watched by people & they can see how the horse moves without the constant irritating interuptions!

I like him, I think he comes across as an honest type. Don't know why the rider's almost sawing at his mouth in places, but he's not objecting. Also don't know if it's the screen or not but he appears short in the back? Still, I like him

I agree completly that he is not given the option to stretch and use his head which would effect his jumping . He also seems a tad bum high.Very straightforward and bold cross country. I would def think he is worth a look. good luck!

I really like that horse, if I had the money I would def go and look- I agree with the others about the rider, she is sawing at its mouth to hold a tight outline. Even when it is stood still!!! Also look at the last jump in the vid in slow motion. The rider jabs the horse in the mouth as it lands- definatley an honest horse!

Definitely worth a look. And to be honest, if he doesn't make a real 'classic' shape over a fence, does it really matter? He is clearly more than capable of doing everything you would ask of him.

His style may improve with time, but it may also be too ingrained in him now and may be difficult to change. Don't think you would be able to just change his jump - the habits he has got into would need tackling firstly on the flat where he would need to learn to trust your hand and not be afraid of taking the contact, before he leaves the ground if you want to change his way of going.

But without doubt worth a look. He appears to have the right attitude, and that is worth an awful lot!!

Sorry - rather waffly I know!!

If you do go and have a look, let them know I would have been more interested in the horse if the video didn't make me fit!

The cutting and editing is hiding something. They have shown no footage of him actually moving for more than 5 seconds. There was a great one where there was a blinding flash as he landed, beautifully distracting from theh horse. And I don't want to see a horse jump 5 times in speeded up mode, I want to see him jump once at normal speed and once in SLOW mode.

It's an appaulling video for selling a horse. And tbh, I'm highly suspicious of what they're trying to distract me from!

Yes, I agree its a very bad video for trying to sell a horse.

I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt though.... I don't think they were particularly trying to hide anything, its not well done enough for that. They were just just trying to show off their editing skills (and failing)!!! This has spectacularly backfired on them though.

Could be wrong though - lets home someone reports back from having seen him.

think it might be cos the rider is sawing the poor things mouth to keep him in an outline and jerks his mouth while jumping so he's just adapted to make it comfy for himself. would probably go better if he had a more sympathetic rider.
Also agree with the distracting video. worth going to have a look as he seems an honest sort (would have to be to put up with the crazy hands).

go and have a look, take someone with you who is an experianced rider so you can see them ride the horse, the video is awful to be polite and does them no favours at all, the rider is definately hindering the horse with her hands and seat but if you watch a more accomplised rider on him you will probably see a better horse and then get on him yourself?? i think he seems very genuine though, let us know how you get on!!
