When I had the mad idea of backing mine, I tried long reining (nearly got cow kicked lungeing for daring to flick the whip in her direction) and first of all she wouldn't move because there was grass to eat, & then she ran off, jumped a huuuuuge ditch, jumped it back again, jumped over, jumped back & then took off bucking & squealing. At that point I decided that I wasn't that fussed about backing her.
It does rather make you wonder about their suitability, doesn't it!
He's been very good to ride so far. Still don't think I trust him-he just hasn't had the urge to cause trouble yet!

Reading this has made me want to have another go! I am 5 ft 1 & weigh 49 kg, so not hugely beyond her carrying capacity. Not sure how I would get a saddle to stay on something which is a perfect sphere, though. Plus I've seen how she can buck!
