I love my horse! Well my little ginger TB ex racer.... A few of you may remember I posted about my lack of motivation.... and that I was going to get my backside into gear nad start riding these horses (I have three rideable)
Today did me the world of good, I tacked up and went out with another livery and really really enjoyed myself... Ginger was impeccable considering he is far from fit... He has had so many colic attacks over the past year, I got to the point that I said one more and he would be PTS for his own quality of life.... there have been times when I thought I would never ride him again... as each time I tried to bring him back into work he would colic!
Since then the pressures of everyday life took over and I was being investigated for cervical cancer (sorry to those of you who I am close to, I know I didn't tell you all, but I did tell Mat_B who was an angel for listening) But I got the all clear about that a few weeks ago now. My son also has to have open heart surgery as we discovered he has a massive hole in his heart, a leaking valve nad the right side of his heart is enlarged, he is very calm about it all....I am still a walking wreck!! op going to be done in January they hope! So is it any wonder I lost my motivation really?
however after having got back in the saddle, my little ginger thing taught me a lesson today..... that life still goes on and no matter what is going on, the horses are always there and can give you so much enjoyment....and really thats what owning horses is all about....
So I love my little ginger pony cos even though he hasn't been ridden in weeks, he plodded out like a lamb, didn't spook when other horses did and I think he enjoyed himself too having his mummy back!
Sorry for the self indulgent post.....
