Wow! What an amazing day! So I am a first time horse owner and have never attended any sort of show with a horse. As far as I am aware my horse has never taken part in any sort of show either so I was a bit nervous to enter our first show. here is a run down events:

Yesterday - bathed horsey (she has full feathers so it took 4 hours!).

chalked and badaged legs - stabled over night. She normally lives out 24/7 so was slightly concerned that I would find a hyper horse in the morning however she actually looked rather annoyed that I had woken her from a fab sleep!

5.45am today - took a very sleepy horsey out of stable, let her stretch her legs on a small patch of grass on the yard while doing last minute prep

6.30am - loaded horse into trailer (walked straight on with no fuss)

7.00am - arrived at show ground. Offloaded (me expecting horse to be all hyper and spooky) she waltzed off the trailer and started grazing.

Walked her into the show ground, past cows, sheep, tractors, trailers and other scary stuff, apart from a few snorts she walked in like a total pro

7.30am - horsey settled into her pen with a haynet, looking completely at home

9.00am - final show prep, talc on feather, shine spray etc etc. took Tash out to warm up and have a walk about. We were doing an in hand class so practiced standing square etc. again she was fab, no fuss, no being silly or spooky and stood like a total pro.

We entered 2 classes and we got a 1st and a 2nd!!!!!!!! She was fab! One of the rings was next of pens full of cattle which she wasn't keen on but trotted past them beautifully!

Sorry - a total, long, gushy post but she really surprised me. She was so well behaved and was complimented by the judges and spectators. I took her in hand as I was worried she would be silly away from home and I feel more confident on the ground with her but after today I can't wait to book my next show where we will go under saddle!

I feel such an overwhelming love for her, I am so lucky to have such a chilled out horsey. Long may it continue!

Will post some pics soon :D
