I love my Yard Owners...........

just for being the experienced, decent people they are! In the last 18 months I have had to deal with having to fight for custody of my 3 grandchildren, directly leading to us becoming homeless with the children, my youngest daughter, 13 horses and numerous hens and geese. My YO's opened up all their hay fields for us for as long as we needed but told us they would like us to stay long term if we wanted. There were some people that were not happy with our decision but going back to our yard was like going home to me and the ponies, we have history going way back! In the last 6 months we have had yet another setback, with a new baby having to join the household, one that had been born 3 months prem, yet more strain on emotions and finances, time and everything else. Despite knowing how hard our lives are some people were determined to try and make it that little bit harder.

Things are really looking up, one of our old livery friends is coming back very soon and it will be like the 'good old days' again. I am so very grateful to our lovely YO's for their continued friendship and support and so looking forward to the coming year and new beginnings!
 
I started to ride at this yard some 25 years ago and they sold me my 2nd pony we had 22 amazing years together, i left the area for 10 years and came back and although i didnt move back on to their yard they have always been supportive and are amazing people. Real YO who care about the horses! the land is always immaculate! and they know their stuff! always honest and fair! when i had my old horse put to sleep HCH yard owner came to hold my hand and say good bye to her old pony. that meant so much.

I am now blessed to have the horses at home on the farm behind the house just up from the above poster, and once again i have an amazing set up and home for myself and my 'kids' nothing is ever too much trouble. I have been on big livery yards some were good some were not so good. There are a lot of 'varying standards' in the horse world and a lot of so called experts. I live for my horses and never proclaim to be an expert as every day is an education day with horses! it just makes it a whole lot easier when you all understand and relate to that on a yard :)

AW, Ember, bless him. C always speaks so fondly of you and I know it meant a lot to her to be there to say goodbye to the old boy. I know you feel the same about the yard as I do as you have so much history there too but I really think it is YO's who make it what it is!
 
most definitely! I have taken ellie around it so many times and shown her where ember use to live and where mummy fell through the barn roof! lol it was a wonderful place to grow up! and C installed so many values and good practice in me! my yard is always clean!! I drove down at the weekend and I can still hear the hustle and the bustle of the riding school, the smells etc.
 
I think the government should start cloning nice people (such as your YOs) so soon equilibrium will be restored and there will be more nice than horrible people in the world! :D
