Howling a gale and tipping it down with rain - great weather for taking baby coblet out for a run! [Not]
Anyway, grab him out the barn, take him for a jog round the block with me [new 'summer' fitness thing going on - beats jogging on my own so I just bring him along with me lol!].
Decide I'll vary the route and take him for a looksy down the main Marlborough road for a change. He's used to the motorway bridge crossing it/doing down alongside the motorway/A road on the other side of a fence on another road etc, but never actually been 'on' a major road if that makes sense? [We have a moderately busy back road that I take him down which does have large vehicles go down it, but nowhere near 'busy' or mainstream rush hour type traffic.]
So anyway, off we pop...he's happily sploshing through puddles and overspilled drains like normal. Get to the main road and pop up on the side [wide verge and concrete path] for a wander down it. National speed limit traffic, with arctics, rush hour type traffic etc hootling down spraying puddles up etc.
What does little baby cob only care about? The verge. Didn't even so much as look up at anything going by him, or flinch at the spray, or well, anything! As far as he's aware, the only reason I took him there, was for an in-hand graze. [Not for an educational experience....Oh no. Just for a take away essentially haha!]
I do love him. Bless him

Though he's also now got into the habit of loving his jumping again....He was in a barn seperated into two large pens - one with him in it, and one with another colt in it as they'd started playing a bit too rough, so we thought we'd split them up with a gate in between. Anyway....5 bar gate = Ping!!! Watched him jumping it back and forth....Sod. Lol! So they're back in with each other now. As amusing as it is watching him jump....not what I want him doing constantly lol!!!
Though, that said, I can't wait to hunt him when he's older haha!
