I went back to work after having had two weeks off for holiday to find I'd been sacked! It came as a complete shock and I Won't go into all the details as it will sound like sour grapes but I was most definitely set up. I have been there less than a year so I don't have much of a leg to stand on. I am very p***ed off.

I have a very good OH who is very supportive and of course, plenty of time to play with my horses, but if I don't find work soon I'm not going to be able to afford to keep them. I have a few pennies that will last me for 2 months at the most but please can I have a few of your wonderful vibes to help get me back on track.

Oh hun what shocking news!! I remember last year coming back from holiday and being put on redundencey alert, that was bad enough!!
Get your self signed up with as many recruiment agencies as you and even do some temp work until something permenant turns up!! You never know the temp work might turn in permenant!

Do you mind if I ask why you was sacked, what was the reason? You may have a case of unfair dismissal??

<<<Hugs>>>> from me too! What a horrible thing to happen - keep your chin up though and remember to come on here for company/laughs!!

((((hugs)))) you have my sympathies.I am in a similar situation in that I was forced to go part time at work due to my family comittments and now it looks as though I will be getting less work as new full time staff are being taken on and there will be no need for me or the other part timer apart from covering sickness and holidays.

Hugs!! Get yourself out there and use that anger constructivly and be really driven looking for a new job. You never know, it might turn out to be the best thing that ever happened to you!

oh no, I wish you all the best in finding a job again, hopefully something better and with nicer people, in the meantime you could always try and get a few different jobs just to tie you over with perhaps, ever little helps.
Try to stay positive, don't let their sour grapes eat you up, it won't do you any favours, contact some agencies and put yourself out there, hope you get sorted quickly.

You poor thing - dont care what the reason it is an awful thing to have happen.

Now get logged on to various firms like Marks and Spencer, Sainsburys, Waitrose - they will all be looking for Christmas staff soon - you have to check the websites every day. Yep its only £6 per hour but thats a bale of hay and some hard feed in my book. It will give you a break whilst looking for a full time job - if in fact you still want one!.
M&S are a fantastic employer - they are not interested in the past - and even if you get a 12 hour week, they always want some over time off you - and with earning such a low wage - you get to keep most of it !

Good luck - everything happens for a reason - and i am sure things will work out. If you need any other moral support or just someone to dump on - send me a PM

I know how you feel and it is sickening. Happened to me when I was younger, went back to work after being on holiday full of beans and refreshed to find my arch enemy had done her best to put the boot in. I had to walk straight back out, I wasn't sacked but pulled in, made to feel like I was already hung, drawn and quartered, they wouldn't listen to me because I had had a fortnight off and she had had a fortnight to put the rot in.

Big hugs to you, just do your best, onwards and upwards, don't whatever you do let it grind you down, try to be positive, you WILL find another job

just because service is under a year, dont think you cant do anything, I work in HR and you woudl be surprised!! Ring ACAS or go see Citizens Advice.....unless you really did fook up!!

My husband lost his job two days before Christmas and it was a really low time though tried to be brave and ignore it til the New Year for the children and family's sake. He got a new job quite quickly and though it shook us both up, we stuck together and are now back on track. It's difficult but keep your chin up and you'll get through it. Good luck and stay positive - lots of vibes going out!

Hi, sorry to hear your bad news, what a terrible time for it to happen.

My OH works in transport and even when people are completely useless they can't get rid of them because they get accused of constructive dismissal etc. It's actually practically impossible to sack someone from what i can tell.

Unless you made a massive mistake and they can prove it then get down to CAB and ask for some advice, there's nothing to lose.

It is a good time for finding christmas work though, get your cv out to every shop you can and i'm sure you will find something, it may not be glam but it's money.
