I work and keep my horse at a saddle club. I have my horse on working livery so our students ride him during the week and some of our pony clubbers ride him at weekends. Just recently he's lost quite abit of weight and has lost his "zing" that he had about him. So basicly I've had enough and I'm going to try and have him on full livery so no one else can ride him apart from me. After all I hate other people riding him as, well, I'm sure you guys understand! Hope I dont sound like an unreasonable moo, but enough is enough!!

He's your horse , you've got to do what is best for him ..... if you don't who will !

If anyone asks just say you had had your eye on him for a while as he looked a bit dull and have decided to give him a break for a while, can anyone who really cares about horses find fault with that ???

I don't blame you. I really struggled when I first loaned my girl out to a riding school, I found it very hard other people riding her, but financially I had to at the time, they looked after her well at that first place (a university). The next place however was dreadful and I started working two jobs to get her back, you are not being selfish at all by having your horse back

Looking at your post you have concerns about him so it's not like your stopping others riding him to be spiteful.

You know your horse and have to do what's right for you and him :)

that is completely fair! i personally only let my friends or if someone has asked very nicely and personally asked me if they can ride! and i know people who wont let anyone ride their horses! especially if hes looking dull! not selfish in the slightest! :)
