The foal is a colt
The mare is only 2yo
I’m planning to turn the mare and foal out with a 4yo and 6yo mare and then once the foal is weaned he will go out with another weaned colt
Do you think this is grand in terms of appropriate company for him?

I’m not too sure as she’s a rescue the DOB will be an estimate but she will be here next week and I’ll have a look at her passport

Thank you! They’re from the same rescue as mocha and the string test predicts she will make 15.3hh which is perfect for me in 3 years we will be flying!

Not 100% sure but I know she was very underweight and they got it up before she foaled
They have a few pictures up on their Instagram but they had two mares in together so not sure which pictures belong to who

Well if you see the dog thread I also have a puppy coming I can’t see them as big problems as I am happy..my partner still has his head in his hands tho!

They have arrived!!
The transporter thinks the mare is actually 3 and will only make 14-2 and I’m hoping he’s wrong! Rescue said she’s 2 and string test said she would make 15.2

I highly doubt she’s 2, it would be extremely unusual and she doesn’t look like a 2yr old (especially not one that has carried a decent sized foal)
You may find either way that her own growth is slightly stunted by the pregnancy and she might not live up to the string test prediction.
