Honest!
The dressage series at my stables ended 2 weeks ago, sorry this is a little late but I've been on holiday! Was a bit of a relief, as I get very nervous with dressage. But also very sad as it was the last time I would ride the horse as she'd been sold
We've had a few dramas in the competition; the first round of it I was put on this Ginger Mare because the horse I was sposed to ride went lame, and I'd never ridden this GM before!
The second round GM had turned out to have been sold to someone else, but the wonderful owners let me ride her for the rest of the series. And now the third and final round was the last time I would ever ride her.. and I also hadn't learnt my tests, and it was the day before we went away to Portugal, sooo... panics on the day!!!
So the first round I had snatched a 1st and 3rd, the second round I scraped a 4th and 5th, and this third and final round I got a 2nd and 4th. So, each time I did well, and was very proud of myself. I just didn't realise how well I'd done overall....
I MADE 2ND PLACE IN THE JUNIORS GIVING ME THE PLACE OF JUNIOR RESERVE CHAMPION!!!!!!!!! Was absolutely chuffed to bits, so much so that I cried!!!!! I got a special rosette, a trophy, and also got a special award as the highest achieving school pony (admittedly she was sold, but they still counted her as a school pony for the series)!!!! Which meant I got my name engraved on a special plaque at the stables!
And according to the stables, they were going to do a little feature and results page about it in our local Pegasus (I think it would be a Kent one) so, look out for it!
Am utterly gobsmacked as it was my first 'proper' dressage attempt, and I never expected to get anywhere with it!
Will be doing an overload covering it in PG later, so look out for that! Thanks for reading through my self-indulgent ramble. Pimms and a burger if you've read this far! xx
