how a horse coat gets dappled? I took delicia to oldencraig today for some aff. dressage (she won her class

) and i noticed how dappeled her coat was looking (shes black btw). I was wondering what (apart from good coat conition) makes their coat that way?

i was always told it is a sign of good general health and good feeding but HOW does this affect the coat? coat colours are affected by lethal genes within the horse DNA, could this be true also?

Everyone I know calls summer dapples 'happy spots'. Your mare is gorgeous, and defo looks very happy to me!
