On this beautiful morning went to our local meet, unmounted as no horse this season. Saw lots of friends, had a lovely sloe gin, it was great fun. But at the call for 'hounds please' the hairs on the back of my neck prickled and I just SO SO SO wanted to be moving off with them (and a wonderfully turned-out field they were too!)
Don't know why I'm telling you all this apart from to get a sympathy vote!

Our last meet was a couple of weeks ago and I had a bad fall at it. So I decided to retire after the fall. A friend of mine offer me her horse to finish the day as she was done and I declined as I felt fed up and cranky. 3 hours later hounds were hunting and I was trying to decide who wouldn't mind if I pulled them off their horse and borrowed it for the rest of the day!!!

I have to say I was delighted for about a week that hunting was finished and now I am missing it :(

I feel your pain!! Do you find your weeks are really odd now as they are not being governed by hunting? I have no clue what day of the week it is half the time!

Most of my 'non-hunting' friends cannot understand the fact I can't wait for spring and summer to be over........

Oooh it's years since I have been out with the mink hounds! Who does one contact these days to find out about meets?
