But to get my mare clipped, i've worked out that it has cost me around £100. Eek!

That's £30 vet callout.
£20 actual clipping.
£25-£30 sedative.
£10 to inject.
Plus extra for vet waiting around. And possibly more for extra sedaive as she fought it.

On the plus side, though, it's going to be much better for her! I've had it all off, as I doubt I'll get near her again this winter. Bloomin mares - who'd 'av em?

Gah. Anyway, anyone know where I can get a show jacket that's got pink in it? Or even better: Is pink?

Does she need knocking for 6 then??
My lad is apparantly horrendous to clip, and needs sedating. I only bought him in march, and he was woolly.
I intend to clip soon though. I have had the clippers running near him, and he is a snorting mess.
Have armed myself with some Sedalin gel, and have the twitch at the ready.

We clipped my friends horse the other day, who is awful too, using the same tactics. The sedalin did the trick, but she was still very worried and kept trying to run backwards, so we twitched her and she was fine. Stood like a lamb, and was easy peasy.

Worth a try, cheaper than £100!! GOOD LUCK

Oh b*gger - had a web address for a company that make a totally GORGEOUS pastel pink show jacket! Really tasteful and professional. Big name like Derby House or something. Threw the address away when I decided it was unlikely I'd be doing any more shows! Have you tried googling PINK SHOW JACKET?
