As many of you know I am obsessed with my boy and want the very best for him. Saying that I have now organised a professional trainer to come up from Spain in January for a month.
Its going to be an intense month of schooling for the both of us. 4 hrs work a day split between morning and afternoon 6 days a week.
As you may know Armas is a P.R.E so I am keen for him to learn Spanish skills such as Spanish walk in hand and a few other goodies.
Fingers crossed it goes well. I will of course post some videos of the training as it takes place !

Sounds like he will be bored to death in no time and dread schooling..:(

Edited to say, sorry if that sounded rude, but I wouldn't dream of doing so much schooling every day. Perhaps for three or four days on a training camp, but not for a month!!

Wow! That is a lot of work......rest days are just as important for learning and developing muscle.
Personally i think that is far too much to be productive either physically or mentally but you know your horse better than anyone here!

Too much work! Lol! My scruffy little irish heinz went on pony camp every year when we were kids 2 hours morning and 2 hours afternoon from age 14 to 19 and she loved it! Horsey holidays in wales the lot. And that was all ridden not some in hand like op has planned. As long as he's in reasonable work before hand he'll love it!

That is ridiculous! School ponies work harder than that! I am sure you will have breaks in between. Good luck and i know you would never do anything that Armas wasn't up to. You are way too soft for that!

in hand or ground skills do not need to be as intense as ridden, and even ridden work can be quite gentle if you are training.

I imagine a lot of the work will be teaching armas rider /owner, as well as armas, so it probably sounds more than it is

I have been to clinics and such where they go all day (and run for a week or so), and an awful lot of time is spent standing around, walking and at a relatively low level energy output, so it may well be that all this is doable

Armas already does 2hrs a day and is extremely fit. I will see how he does and if its too much work and he looses concentration then we will cut down his work load. However I want to maximise the trainers time.

Hearts05 he comes from this school http://www.rmcr.org/cuadra.html
