I'm getting another dog! Jess really seems to benefit from being in the company of others (she loves when Beastie comes to stay) so OH and I (mostly me :-p) decided on a second dog.

She's an 18 month old yellow lab (on my phone so can't figure how to add pictures) who was handed into the pound as she was too boisterous. She doesn't seem to have had ANY training so I'm not surprised!

Jess and her got on well? I think the fact Jess is used to our midget lab helped as we had taken her out with a cocker spaniel first but she didn't like him, but likes this new one!

Collecting her on the 11th (going to be a long wait!) she's currently called Miley but doesn't know it so other suggestions are welcome.
 
Sounds lovely, we always have two or three labs at a time, they keep each other entertained!. My Brother and SIL live in NI and have had three labs from the pound so far. They have all turned into beautiful well mannered dogs. Well done for taking on a rescue.
 
I don't think you're mad, and I like that you let Jess be a part of deciding which new dog to get. But seriously, if Miley is 18 month old, and was handed in by her previous owner because she was too boisterous, but she doesn't seem to have had any training, hm, is it only me that sees a possible connection there?

About name suggestions, finding the right name is so personal, I think you'll find the name that suits her when you get to know her. Besides, my brain has gotten stuck on Mellow, because it rhymes with yellow, and Mellow can mean relaxed, so if she's a little bit boisterous, she could perhaps need to mellow down a bit.

Anyhow, I hope you have lots of fun together with her. :)
 
I'm hoping once we get her a name will just come to me! I am counting down the days.

She's a typical lab, very eager to please. Within 20 minutes I had her walking to heel and she was really starting to grasp 'wait' and 'walk on' I think her previous owners just didn't bother to train or exercise her enough.

I'm just so excited, but also nervous! Must try and figure how to post pictures while on my phone :)
