You're not the only one, I've just cried my eyes out at that!!! I'm still just a pony-mad little girl inside. I had very little to do with ponies for 20 years, and when I bought my youngster I cried all the way home because I was so happy! When we win anything I have to hold back the tears I'm so proud. I embarass myself regularly, it's just daft. It just doesn't get better than being a little girl and getting a pony for christmas though!
Aww, every little girl's dream come true. I remember how she feels, I worked hard at a riding school to prove I was committed and I remember my Dad coming home from work one day (After we had viewed a lovely mare, of many I may add) My Dad never said a word and after a couple of days of living in hope I had started to think that again there must be a reason for her not being suitable. He walked into our livingroom and announced "Well who is coming to see Tara and look after her" It took me a few seconds to grasp it and then, well I can't even describe how I felt, wonderful!!
Bless! I got a pony for my 10th birthday/ crimbo joint pressie (my birthday is Dec 23rd!) My parents gave me a shoe box with a head collar, a photograph of Merlin and a mug saying I Love My Pony on, and i had to guess the rest......best Pressie EVER! I owned him for 17 years til he was PTS in October this year.
Did this for my daughter last June, took her to the yard, when 'Summer' popped her head over the stable door, she had a note attached to her headcollar, I said to my girl, "You'd better open that, it looks important.." she looked pretty confused then read what it said 'I am yours, please love me and look after me, Happy Birthday!'
My daughter burst into tears, then I did..cue much weeping and a bemused pony gawping at us lol
