As most of you know i own a spooky mard tb who's 16.1. Now his feed doesnt seem to being doing the right job and was wondering if you guys could help! He is currently on 2 small sccops of horse and pony mix and hifi with garlic. He is sharp in winter but needs more conditioning to maitain weight in winter so he is on hifi and 2 small scoops of spillers conditioning cubes with garlic and cidear vinegar for stiffness as he has limited turnout in winter. This suits him fine in winter but in summer he doesnt need the conditioning as he is out throughout the day and keeps weight on well. Now in summer he has littlke or limited energy when schooling and even out hacking so I was wondering wether he should be on a feed with more energy in it. He is 16 now so was also wondering if he should be on veteran mix also. Thanks and sorry for blabbering.

I have done that thanks on the spillers website i was just wondering what everyone on here thought! Thanks tho

hi I feed my 15yr old Calm and condition and alfa a oil in the winter. His hunting energy will come from the oil. He kept his weight brilliantly last season. In the summer as he shows I keep the C&C and add equi Jewel. A rice pellet with oil for coat condition. He can be quite sharp but has a cool head on this. You are best getting energy from oil as too much grain based products will make them fizzy. Horse and pony mix will have peas and beans and oat/barely stuff in it. Oil based is the way forward!

i would just give him a couple of handfulls of rolled oats in the summer if he holds his weight and you just want a bit more engery then when you dont need them just take them away safes you changing is whole diet!
