I sold my devoucoux dressage saddle earlier this year as it just didn't really suit and the horse really did not move well in it.

I need to get a new one as entering to do intermediate novices and sitting trot in a jumping saddle is not the best experience.

I am filled with dread trying to find a suitable one as you hear horror stories all the time. I am very slight and need a close fitting saddle - I tried a Wintec one and literally thought I might split in two.

Any suggestions would be most grateful, and most importantly I want one that will encourage my horse to go well. We were thinking of Sue Carson saddles???

Thank you!!

Yes - Try a Sue Carson. Our eventer goes beautifully in one. Very comfortable. Worth contacting Sue Carson for advice on local supplier - she's very helpful.

I'd think about an Ideal - you can have one made to your exact specifications. I have a Suzannah and sitting trot has never been easier!

My Dressage instructor raves about the KN saddles. She says they really let the horses move and they are comfortable to sit on.

I have an Ideal, its a lovely saddle

I have a Frank Banes and its so comfortable.
Try before you buy. Have a fitter with a load of saddles out to you if possible.
I travelled all the way to oxford (5 hours for me) and its took 4 hours to fit me and the horse for 2 saddles.

I am also very slight and have an idea Roella - it is a super saddle, I feel great in it and the horse goes brilliantly in it.

Barnsby do one, the lorenzo I think, which is also designed for petite riders, only ever sat on one on a stand not on a horse, but it is more expensive and to my mind the ideal was a nicer saddle to sit in.
