My 4 yo needs more outings to further his education and give him confidence, be it trips to other yards, small competitions, training etc.
But, I really struggle to do this without help! Although he is good to load/travel etc, he can be a bit lively at a new place (which is why I need someone to come with me a) to help me tack up etc b) to calm me down when he is being a bit silly!!
In the past, with my other horse, the people I tend to mix with in horsey circles were at a similar level to me in terms of level of competition etc, so we used to all go to parties together.
But now, I feel a bit isolated , as these people are busy with their own horses (so difficult for them to find time to come with me anywhere) and there is no-one who wants to do the kind of things I have mentioned above, as they are much further on with their neddies (going eventing, affiliated dressage etc). No-one on my yard competes now. My family are really not horsey either.
I could do all this on my own, but it would be nice for someone to progress alongside me and help motivate me, as it's a bit boring planning it all on my own....soooo is there anyone in the Greater Manchester, Lancs area (I'm near Oldham/Rochdale) who want to be my training/competition/outing buddy with their youngster? Help will be reciprocated!!
