Hello all,
Currently I'm riding in a farrington Burford VSD which I love (although it is 1/2" large for me in the seat size), but as we start to do more jumping (which I never thought we would, hence why I bought the VSD!) I'm finding that once I jump 3' or above, I really need something slightly more forward cut and with some extra security.
I am on a severe budget, as just about to move house, so was thinking that I could get one of the farrington event/jump saddles in the same size (smaller seat) as it would be of a similar fit & I could therefore hopefully just get the saddler out to check the fit/flocking etc rather than forking out 100s of ££ on a new one from the saddler. He has a very limited 2nd hand range and is reluctant to sell these in favour of a new one.
Would this work? does anyone know of any other saddles that are built on a similar tree to the farrington? If it helps, I also had a Kieffer Zugspitze that was quite nice and fit the horse well, but I sold it to my instructor as I preferred riding in the VSD.
Sorry for the long ramble - enjoy some of this chablis I'm getting stuck into!
