I'm in need of a new yard, its a nightmare to find one in my area as it isn't very horsey and I'll have to travel further and pay more... But I think I need to go!
Looking for a yard in Dartford, Stone, Greenhithe, Darenth, Sutton at Hone etc in Kent.
The woman I rent the land off is getting so rude, its getting me down, my horse never does right, I never do right yet she's perfect and you can't say a word against her crappy bloody horses or yard.
Had the dentisit for my boy today and she sighed and went 'let's hope you can still catch him, everything your doing is terrifying him' excuse me?? I'm having him checked over before he goes away to be backed so want to know he's ready. I had him walking over tarpaulin within 5 mins of me getting it out, but I shouldn't be doing it because I'll scare the horse too much?!
He melts at the sight of a coat flapping on a gate post, but it was certainly him that pulled a rug from the gate and dragged it through the mud, out of four horses. (Really?!)
I don't do enough work with him, I do too much. I don't go out with him enough, we're out too much. I'm sure she thinks he's my first horse and I haven't got a clue!! I've had horses 10 years - just because he's my first unbroken horse she believes she's a horse whisperer and knows the bloody lot. Yet her horse stands in the way, follows you and mugs you for any food and nips all the time, but he's basically like a 5* super horse!! (He is not - its annoying, horrible natured, but she couldn't see it if he had three legs, but he's such a great horse LOL)
Makes me so angry because it makes me not want to go down the yard when she is there (I'll get up early do what I want to do, then leave) but course, I'm not getting all the things done I wanted to do. I also find I'm going, 'no not going to do that because she'll moan and come over and start showing me how to do it properly when I haven't asked for her help'?! She tells me what I need to do, like 'you need to long rein him today, actually do something with him!!' Yet her horse stands and 'has a day off' for 4 days then is ridden in walk for 20 mins and he's done a brilliant, hard days work. HAHA.
Makes me want to cry when she's so rude, because I want to defend myself - but she's the type that would try and start a row or chuck me off the yard there and then. I'm keeping quiet because I'm scared if I say anything she'll kick me off.
I don't stable my horse, because she'll take him out the stable and leave his stable rug on, and then I turn up to a horse caked in mud or soaking wet and her horse in the stable I left him in, eating my horses horselyx which ends up being demolished by the time I get there to save it and I can't say anything.
She never poo picks but all she moans about is that we don't do enough.
Sure I don't pay a lot of rent a week, but I'd rather pay a bit more, be happy and enjoy my horse again. The fields are totally crap, the horses have free rein of ever field so there are no summer/winter fields - they're full of mud, so I groom my horse and clean his legs and then walk out the stable door and he's in a mud bath again!
She's bullying me and its ruining my time with my horse!!!!
If anyone has a yard in that area or knows of any, please let me know - my sanity depends on it!!
Very well behaved horse and a slave of an owner!! I'm happy to do yard work, help out with other peoples horses, poo pick etc but I don't expect anyone to care for my horse - I'll be there everyday and I'll try and help anyone
