Have entered the boy into a show on Sunday - unfortunately we don't have a shower and solarium so am going to have to find a way of getting him clean without bathing.

Any ideas/ hints or tips?

Groom, groom and groom some more, then a super hot cloth with a sponge for the really grubby bits, then a spray with coat shine. Grooming lots really seems to fade the stains away on my grey mare and make new ones much easier to shift! You should be able to wash his tail no probs in the cold weather as the rest of him can stay nicely rugged up!

A good elbow grease groom and then hot cloth all over body? I'm sure you can get away with washing feathers and tail even in this weather (I would, carefully!). Spot clean any stains, don't worry too much, the judge will be fairly aware that this is not the time of year for full blown baths :)

Cowboy Magic! the BEST stain remover i have ever come across. Unlike most of the others, it doesn't need washing off, if i remember correctly?

I swear by the stuff with my coloured for his showing!!

Did a trial run this evening. Hot towelling brought his body up great. I did his back legs and rubbed in some show clean then rubbed it out with the hot towel and dried as best i could. Smeared on some show white - we shall see the effect tomorrow.

Tomorrow will was tail and outer sections of feathers and do something with mane - fortunately that is kept bagged ;)
