I need a police report for my missing passport. Any Advice??

I have contacted the KVTH about my mare's microchip not matching her passport. She is registered with them but they have asked that I obtain a Police Report and send it to them for the missing passport.

Any ideas who I would need to contact? Would my local horsewatch PC be able to help?

Does your local force have an equestrian liaison officer? Might be worth phoning HQ to find out. They at least hopefully would understand what you are talking about.

Local police on their non emergency number. Home Office rules require the crime to based around the victim's home address if you are recording something where the offence location is not known

Ahh, luckily West Yorks police has recently resurrected their horsewatch scheme. As my mum lives there and the pony is to be registered in her name then I would guess that would be a good place to start.

Is your passport lost or stolen?

If lost, then your report it to your local Police station who will make an entry on their lost property register and give you a lost property number.

If stolen, you really should have reported it when it happened but as mother_hen has said, if the location of the theft is unkown, it will be the station or Constabulary of your (or the owners) home address.

I'm not sure what you would class it as - I presume it was simply 'mixed up' when the pony was sold and someone else has it with their pony.

Basically, after having my Haffie's microchip checked it doesn't match her passport - but she is still registered with the KVTH so they want a police report before they'll send me a duplicate.

To be fair, I wouldn't class a mix up as being stolen and would report it as being lost. Hopefully the KVTH will accept a lost property number.
Can the KVTH not help you trace who might have the passport though by checking when the pony was sold? Surely it's in everyones best interest to have the correct ones as far as they are concerned.

I don't really understand what they mean by "report" though as you will only get a reference number whether you report it lost or stolen, not a report.
