I could really do with someone to hack out my horse a few times a week, or do what they want with him as long as it is exercise, I don't want money - just need the time!! He's a good boy and a lovely quality horse and I would let them compete/hunt if they were competent enough.

I want to advertise in local places, but I have no idea what to put!! Any idea's???

Have a look on Horsemart at the WANTED section - you may find someone in there that is local.

Otherwise I would speak to your Hunt Sec and local DC - they may well know of someone who is horseless and wants something to do. Because you are going to have the person come to you, I would try the word of mouth option first, before advertising. Badger needs a consistent, firm but fair rider and so recommendations and references from someone that knows him would be the best way to go.

They don't have to be over 18! My other rider has just gone off to uni.

Mum is there to watch what they are doing so it isn't a prob, but i wouldn't want to promise competing/hunting because it's unlikely I'd let them TBPH.

They might get the chance on one of mums hunters though..

Thanks weezy, he's a pretty happy hacker TBH, he's the type that is a good boy for a novice rider but cheers up if he thinks he's in for some fun!

So although a wouldn't put my OH who has never ridden before, in company, anyone who generally knows how to ride a bit is fine, if not mum can ride Badge and they can ride Caff who could be a riding school horse!

Any old numpty will do basically! anything more is a bonus!

As long as you don't mind a load of scruffy dogs sleeping on your bed then yes we do!

I've just written this but it sounds a bit naf..

"Rider/help wanted
In a friendly private yard in *********

My horse Badger lives in *********, unfortunately I live in ****** and work full time in ******* which makes riding in the winter difficult.

Badger is a quality 16.3 ISH and would love it if anyone had any time to come and help him keep fit for his hunting and SJ! He is a lovely, mannerly hack and there will be the opportunity to hunt/compete for the right rider.

Anyone interested give me a call on 0114 *******"

I'm gonna put it in a local tack shop - hence all the place names!

Curses, curses - how come I am ALWAYS in the wrong place for these fantastic offers? I dont think there is ANYONE in my neck of the woods looking for a sharer/rider/cheerful little helper at all.

I think that advert looks fine, and while it is a little bit "cutesy", it has a nicer friendlier sound than some of the share adverts you see, that seem to consist of a long list of what the sharer isn't allowed to do with the horse. Put it this way, if I lived in your area, I would respond to that advert.

I would also love someone to come and ride/share the work with my two but it seems that noone is interested anymore.
I would willingly let someone borrow/loan my arab boy but again who do you trust?
Its such a shame for them to be standing bored.
So if anyone is interested in the West Mids/South Staffs areas.
