I need help please. Insurance?

I have made a claim against the loss of my boy and the insuarance ppl have passed my details to equine first who are a charted loss adjusters they said they need to call me and arrange a vist. Has anyone ever been through this process before if so can you offer and advise or tell me how this process works please? The problem is i bought a horse yesterday and would rather pay for it from my insurance money that take a last min loan out from my parents.
 
It is quite often standard procedure for a death claim to be honest, I wouldn't be concerned about it, they just will want to validate the claim so they can confirm with your insurer's it's ok to pay and is a genuine claim.
 
Shouldn't do really, just procedure (unfortunately - can be a pain!). Will depend on the insurance company and who they use as loss adjusters I would imagine.
 
Ive never made a claim for anything before so this is all so new to me and espically as with the credit crunch I know there are cases where ppl are trying to trick the system.
