2 days this week I've cycled to work and back. It's a nice rural 7 miles - the (almost) perfect way to wake up on the way to work, and relax on the way home.

However, I realised that I need to ride my horse less, and cycle more, or just get out more....

on both occasions this week, on my way home, whilst enjoying the peace and quiet, a bird scarer has gone off in one of the fields near the road, and on both occasions...

I have been surprised that my bicycle didn't spook :eek::eek::eek:

and yes, I am blonde! :D:D

Chuckle, once when out walking my dogs they leapt forward to chase a bird, I 'gathered my reins' & thought 'oh my I'm going to get tanked off with' then realised they were dogs, I wasn't riding them, & my reins were dog leads...... yes, I am blonde :(

When walking my puppy last night he was rushing ahead a little, so i gave him a check with the lead, and was thinking to myself, these half halts work just as well on the dogs.

Strange how you start thinking of things in horse terms.......

Confession time...I talk to my car! I didn't even realise I did it until one day I was giving my Mum a lift home from work and she asked me if I realised it was a car and not a horse. She only picked me up on it when she noticed that every time I was accelerating, I was clicking my tongue. Oops! :P

This thread made me laugh as I realised the other day I tongue click :o to my cats and regularly talk in horse terms, back, stand, over  I have even been known to do it to the OH but has yet to realise , either that or he's just nt listening to me

Glad its not just me, I try to use my legs doing showjumping on the wii, & attempt leg yield on my bike round holes etc. When daughter was a toddler used to refer to her as rising 2, 3 etc & would only realise what I'd said when they said pardon.

YO caught me struggling with bicycle and gate one day and quite earnestly advised me to teach it to do turns on the forehand! At the time I thought he'd taken a drink, but having seen this thread, I'm not so sure... ;)

I spooked when a dog barked while leading Frank out in hand yesterday... he didn't  I also forget that cars don't have to slow down for me on the bike! :D

After using the wheelbarrow at the yard a while back I only just caught myself in time not to give it a pat and say "good boy!" was feeling a right numpty after that
Have also caught myself out clicking to my dog and telling her to "walk on" or "stand" ha ha! :D

On one of my driving lessons recently, we went down a road I sometimes hack down.

Suddenly, my teacher said "Why did you do that?!"...Then I realised I had slowed down because the flappy bag was still in the hedge. D'oh! Luckily it's a quiet road and I didn't hold anyone up :P
