Because we've never really had to do it!

Have always rotated fields and harrowed instead

But the 3 boys, Saf and the 3 field ornament girls are all turned out in the hay field now, which i'm sure is about 6/7 acres it seems huge!

It didn't look too bad to start with, and then all of a sudden it looked awful

so have spent the past couple of weeks poo picking as much as humanly possible - ie until it hurts my arms too much to carry on!

Nearly there now!

Suddenly dawned on us it would have to be poo picked as we want to keep them out there until the end of October and we couldn't have left them out there that long surrounded by poo!!!

i poo pick twice a day, but i only have the one and hes on a smaller paddock, but he does do millions of poos!!!

I got sick of the blisters after poo picking for 6 , i looked for someone who you could hire with a machine but no one seems to do it so OH bought me a poo machine, its brilliant. Heaven, no more blisters

My horse is at livery with 12 other horses and no-one poo picks. I've started doing my share but it appears that no-one has done any for months so you can imagine how much there is. It's a nightmare a never ending task, once you think you are getting on top of it there is another tonne of it!

Pardon??

An electric wheelbarrow??!

We were thinking of just driving the dumper truck around and chucking it all in that, but then you have to chuck it higher so not really sure it would be any better!

i didnt have the luxury of a dumper truck! Thought of a small aluminium trailer, but didnt have anything to tow with, so decided on electric barrow. Its powered by battery actually and you dont have to push it or lift it up! Look on Mowermagic website, powered wheelbarrows. (Sorry if this is advertising )

What I hate is when one of the horses turns the wheelbarrow over and you have to pick it all up again.
They sneak up behind me and loiter, looking all innocent, then over it goes.
I could weep.

I poo pick for five daily. We try never to miss a day as the amount then becomes hard work. Daily is the key.

I loathe poo picking so much I deliberately choose yards with masses of grazing so it does't have to be done. I once turned down a livery yard though because I wanted full livery and they still wanted you to come and poo pick. Whats the point of that?

Our two are out 24/7, so we poo pick daily, which amounts to about a barrow a day.

They have spots where they poo, so it's not too hard to get into a routine, until they do a sly one somewhere new...and you don't spot it for a few days.

Well with B we managed about 5 barrows last night, there's now just a strip down the middle that hasn't been done and looks nasty but we are nearly there!!

I seem to have been swapping my cycle ride each night with poo picking each night - surely i must be using the same amount of energy though?!
