Nugget threw a shoe this weekend, and regulations state that our horses need to be shod to work in the city. No shoe = no Nugget. No Nugget = no money, and considering it was the first sunny day in Boston it was bound to be a good day for business. So I got out the tools and nails and put on my first shoe.

Putting shoes on big draft horses is not that much fun - but I have to praise myself, it stayed on, and after he day of work he was as sound as a pound and as predicted it was a great day for business, and I made lots of money.

In future I will only do smaller horses.

Oh well done, not sure I'd try it but I know someone who did when her horse threw a shoe the morning of a hunt meet and her horses's shoe also stayed on for the days hunting and beyond...!

Mainly hug him - he is actually a carriage horse, we do tours of Boston together.

You should see him now - he has his summer coat. I am infact going to drive him tonight too - I will bring my camera!!
