It occurred to me recently that rather than getting my clothes dirty every time I feed the horses (they live out 24/7 in muddy field and I go straight from work), I should get some overalls to wear. I put some on my Christmas wishlist and I am now the proud owner of what is effectively a bright yellow, waterproof, hooded onesie... perhaps not my most flattering outfit but my god, I feel like it has changed my life, haha! I'm no longer dirty, fluffy or smelly when I come home, I stay dry in the rain, warm in the wind and don't get a breeze up my back when bending over to retrieve buckets and whatnot. I also don't have to wash my jeans after every wear and I don't get home with hay in my hair. I've also discovered that you can throw yourself on the snow and roll around without concern for getting damp. :p

Basically it's the most simple and obvious idea in the world but I just thought I'd share as it has saved me so much hassle. Plus it makes you look damn sexy... or something.

ETA: sorry for photo size!

PS. I hold no responsibility for your horses' actions as you approach them in such an outfit. ;)

Fabulous! My husband has a similar outfit in green, watches my daughter play hockey wearing it!

I tend to sport waterproof trousers and cheap coats to do the horses. Most coats are 99p jobs from Ebay much to my kids horror!!!

I have been searching for something like this (but got sidetracked by the very expensive horse branded ones). Where do I get them? And do they have lots of the fluorescent yellow left (handy for OH to find me when I get stuck in thigh deep mud) :D

This is fantastic! My horse would disown me and probably question if it REALLY was her mum in there for a few weeks, but my work collegues would be grateful I no longer arrive at work red faced and windswept!

Mine were on Amazon! These ones I think: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Castle-Cove...G8GU/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1359497901&sr=8-7

I also went for yellow ones thinking someone would find me easily when I inevitably get lost in the mud somewhere! For anyone worried about the sizing, I went for a 'small' and they are roomy but not ridiculous on me (5'8" and a size 10 - 12). I know you could get cheaper but these are reasonably thick compared to some and with a slight stretch.

You just need a little fishing rod ;-)
Seriously I think you carry them off quite well..& don't look anything like lala or whoever is the yellow one!

Haha, thank you! That was Christmas day... I unwrapped them and got all excited about trying them on. My brother's girlfriend joined me by trying on a very attractive pair of chest-high waders that one of the men in the family received as a present. Needless to say we made a particularly fetching pair together. :p

I have Ordered, my god I can't believe how excited I am about them!! Great tip and stretchy too, brill thanks! Went for a medium as I am tall and size 14.

I was rather overexcited about them too for some reason! Hope you find them as useful as I do. :) They're also great if you have a horse like my mum's who I'm pretty sure likes to stamp in the mud when you get up close to him just to ensure that you get covered!
