We have been leaning over her, grooming from a mounting block, and generally getting her used to having someone “above†her, and she hasn’t batted an eyelid so today I popped on bareback.
She stood perfectly and looked at my feet a bit. Hubby gave her a big pat and a bit of carrot, and then we stood for a few minutes before he asked her to walk on.
I could feel her responding to my weight on her- there was a moment where she was clearly wondering how on earth to walk with me on her, and then she decided it was fine and that was that.
We walked for about 20m, stopped and I hopped off. Not a care in the world, and not phased at the dismount either which I was really pleased about.
And best of all, she didn’t feel too small!
