I measured Hector today (he's 2.5yrs now) and he is 16.1 1/4 - just like his dam!

This is H today (Kings Composer x Sportsnight x Atlantus)

Also, though I didn't actually measure Matilda, I measured her against myself and then measured me lol - at 4.5 months she is 13hh (though that is obviously an inexact measurement).

This is H at 5.5 months

Hector looks fabulous! Really grown up now and in super condition. As well as still being handsome.

Harder to tell with Matilda but she does look like she'll be a big girl too!

Monsters? Surely you mean stunners!

I love the way everything about Matilda is sort of outlined in colour; chestnuts, hooves - as if someone has been inking her in....

Sorry, that is SO irrelevant, isn't it.

Edited to say that I've only just twigged that they are out of the same mare. She really comes up with the goods, doesn't she.

Thank you!

That pic of M was to illustrate her size at a month younger than H.

Here's a better one - taken in June, so 2 months old

Lovely horses - Hector doesn't quite look like he's finished growing yet though

HA - you think! I reckon he's got another 2 inches in him at least! M will be bigger.

I just wish that H was a filly and M was a colt - M would be easier to sell then, as in easier for me to part with....

Because I'm a kind, thoughtful, selfless person I'll let you give her to me so you don't have to worry about selling her.

Ok, I LOVE H!!! And I see why you like Osk, as I think there is a similarity between them, must be the Ladykiller TB blood in O that causes it. He's looking fantastic and not at all monstrous.

Matilda is a beauty. Your poor camera LOL.

i love Matilda. is she bred to dressage/sj or might she be light enough to event?

[/ QUOTE ]

Thank you! Take your pick LOL! I honestly do not think she moves well enough in trot for pure dressage, but she has a very good walk and a LOVELY canter - which is effortless! She entertains herself jumping feed buckets and thistles...... She's extremely bold too - marched onto the trailer the first time, whilst her mother took a little bit more persuading. H was like that too though and he IS bred to event.

They are both smashing.

But you'd have to travel a long way to see another 2 year old as nice as Hector.

Oh gosh - wow! Thank you so much AM!! He is the absolute apple of my eye! By hook or by crook I am going to try and keep him....

Well he is stunning - Kings Composer I mean - but even more geographically inconvenient than the others I'm looking at!
One thing I couldn't see on his page was his height?

LOL and King does not do frozen or chilled unfortunately. He's even better looking in the flesh too - not as over topped as he appears on the website. I think I am correct in saying that he was the BEF leading sire in 2007. King is a fraction over 16hh if I remember correctly.

Well thats rules him out I'm afraid, even if I trekked to Cornwall to see him I doubt Dixie would appreciate the trip!
Why does he not AI? To maintain the value of limited offspring or does he have an aversion to a pretend mare??

Oh he's more than happy to use the dummy mare! You can do fresh semen with him, but AFAIK Tullis has not been able to succesfully chill or freeze his semen, no matter the extender used!

I used to live in Cornwall, so using him ATT was convenient, but I do know that mares travel from up north and from Ireland to be bred to him.
