Well I had to pop over to my neighbour as I bought a saddle for her so wanted to give it to her.

Anyway I told her I had gelded Ezzy and she said "oh now you have another riding horse......can I buy Oscar from you then!" I said "yes"..........

.....oh my! She jumped around, giggling and then ran over to me and gave me a huge big cuddle. Hell it was worth it for the beautiful big smile she gave me.

So, Oscar will be leaving and moving next door and she has completely agreed to me having first option on him if she ever wants to sell him; but I know she won't.

Patches was right - he will be HER horse of a lifetime and I am happy. Sheesh it was all so easy, I can't understand why I became so silly about the whole thing.

I am happy. I know she is thrilled (after all she has waited for 9 months for me to make this decision!) and I know Oscar will be very happy there - he's absolutely perfect for them.

Thank you everyone. I really am happy with the decision MM. Spaniel you are absolutely right, it does feel like it was the right thing to do....I know that now. Her face was soooo thrilled and she was sooo excited when I blurted it out.

I think I am happy because she is so happy - what more could I ask for.

Well she has already bought 2 other horses from me and I know that she cares very deeply for them. And yes I see them all the time so it's not like I will be losing touch with him....although I know that I will withdraw from him over the next couple of weeks until he moves over there....actually I don't know when he will move over there. Maybe she will want him very soon just incase I change my mind again LOL!!

You blooming well knew I would sell in the end didn't you!

I bet there's a fair few on here who knew that...it was just deluding myself

It was Ezzy having his chop that made it easier for you

I hoped you would keep him, but knew you probably wouldn't! Now you just have to work on not buying another and using the cash for the arena etc.... any takers on bets that Tia has another horse before the arena is finished? Foals don't count!

LOL she will be round at 5am incase you change your mind!!

Aww im so happy for you and your friend, it sounds like its the right time too, espec as you have a newly gelded handsome coloured to ride!

You guys are both right. It was when I was standing with Ezzy that I just knew that it was the correct thing to do.

I could never ever sell Ezzy, I know that, and he is such a cool, terrific guy that I know I will have just as much fun on him as I had on Oscar. Now that Ezzy is gelded I can actually DO things with him and take him places which will be wonderful.

Wow!! She waited 9 months for him!! He will be sooo spoilt and sooo happy!

Well done, that was obviously a very tough decision for you to make. *Pats Tia on back*

You have lost 2 testicles but gained so much! (well obviously YOU havent lost them lol)
Just think of all the fun you can have now that mares wont be throwing themselves at him!

Eeeek! Don't blame me if you regret it!

For what it's worth, I think you've done the right thing Tia. As you acknowledge, Oscar is going to be your neighbour's horse of a lifetime. It's such an honour to bestow on any horse. Oscar truly deserves the adulation.

Well done. I know it was a hard decision but Oscar will go on to make you very proud, not just of himself but of the grand job you did of training him.

I bet your neighbour is fit to burst this evening

You said "yes".

It sounds like a great match so you've done a good thing. Now you have time and $ to devote to your "newly lightened" riding horse.

oh Tia, I am really pleased to hear that you've made a decision and that you are happy

I had a feeling that Oscar was destined for your neighbour

Here's looking forward to lots of fun with Ezzy

I am so pleased you decided to sell him because your friend sounds as though she was absolutely thrilled... how nice that you could bring so much joy to someone like that! It does sound as though he is her horse of a lifetime, and you know he will be well cared for, totally adored and never want for anything. I don't think any horse owner could ask for anything more!
