A shower? Change of clothes? Couple of bottles of febreze?

I have to dig out the old cow byre to bed down for a field shelter later now the winter turnout area's fenced....years of compact cow tuds.....mmmm yummy-so imagine I shall have your problem later lol

Though I do think I'd prefer the 'aroma' of the haylage...

Lol I don't actually mind stinking of haylage, but my non-horsey husband tends to protest lol

Can't get anything mechanical into the byre, it's long and thin with a huge feed rack along the edge, even with the eeder removed it's still not really big enough...I'm spreading it over a few days to avoid my back going but am unsure what would be best...start at the front and work my way back, going down to the concrete and progressing a few feet back each day, or removing all of the dry top, exposing the wetter compact stuff underneath, then remove another layer tomorrow when it's dried off, etc etc...

I don't know which would be easier....

If I were you I would start at the front then work back, I think it would save time and it would mean you don't have to stand on the stuff to get to the stuff further back!
