YAY I'm still alive and didn't even make use of the £4 I had to pay towards the medics attendance
Soo, an update for all of those who wished me good luck yesterday.
Dressage was interesting to say the least! It is the first time I have ever done dressage on grass. It was held in a HUGE field with 2 dressage rings running along siide each other with the rest of the field used as warm up so it was a little hectic. It blew poor Bean's simple mind! *laughs out loud* Took me a good hour to warm her up (on and off). First thing she did in warm up tank off in canter
. After a fast lap of the HUGE field we eventually got some ok-ish work out of her. She was doing nice figures of 8 in trot, changing bend over the centre ect and in an outline *something never achieved at a comp before so just for that I'm proud! She was still very strong though and canter was a nightmare! So anyhoo, went and did our test and although we got a bad mark overall we had a few nice bits which again I'm proud of as before all of it would be bad!!!! Her first canter was horrendous! We got a 4 for it and trust me that was generous! The second one on her good rein was ace and got us a 7 . The whole test was kind of like sitting on a bomb... waiting for it to go off, most our marks were low as we kept breaking in to canter for a stride but I don't care! We did at least half of it in an outline and we didn't bolt out the arena, bonus!
Sj was clear, although over that size had it not been I might not have bought her home *laughs out loud*!
And xc was fab! Bean was a little machine! We did have one stop at the flat bedded wide trailer but entirely my fault! I rode at it practically asking her to refuse! She jumped it second time no problems. She flew everything else though.
Quite a few people stuggled with the course and I actually ended up getting 6th out of quite a large class!
Only have one picture unfortunatly and it's not great and looks even worse after using my scanner to scan it in! This was coming over a log and down a drop! Ignore how HUGE I look, I was in a pb and all in black so you can't actually see my arms *laughs out loud*.
