I stated in one of my previous posts how grateful I was for Eurosport when comparing it to the BBC. I now take it back after today's coverage of Aachen. I am absolutely shocked and appalled by what I saw. Instead of starting the coverage right from the start, they opted to show pre-recorded motorbike racing!! By the time they went to Aachen, the class was well under way. Then there was countless shots of the crowds, exterior grounds and of the houses in the nearby village when they jolly well should have been focusing on the arena action. Going to advert breaks just as riders were about to start their rounds. They even did this with Edwina Alexander!! Going on about showing the big Grand Prix on Sunday when it's not even scheduled to be shown!! Plus they haven't broadcast ANY of the eventing, dressage, vaulting or driving. They are pitiful!! If only the BBC weren't so blooming obsessed with Wimbledon, we might have had a real equestrian treat!!

SJFAN should point out the FEItv ONLY showed the nations cup showjumping from aachen. the reason more isnt on aachens own free site is that they have a deal with german tv and no one was bright enough to geoblock the streaming so those of us outside germany (where it was on terrestial tv) could watch it.

Correct! feitv.org shows both rounds each Nations Cup of the Super League series withn o interruptions for ads. They also did the whole of the World Cup Finals, will be doing World Cup qualifiers, showed all of Rolex Kentucky etc and have an archive of events already shown. Therefore worth paying out for imo.
I absolutely agree about the Aachen people failing to do the obvious - very disappointing as in the past I've been able to watch the whole show though there were occasional problems because having so many users overloaded their system! I wrote to them on Tuesday and having still not had a reply, sent the following just after 3pm today:
I appreciate that you and your colleagues are very busy, but I really would appreciate a reply. My email is about the service provided by the show website. Please ask your technical staff to make the live video stream available to viewers who are not in Germany. Aachen is probably the best show in the world and those of us who cannot be there became accustomed to being able to watch the whole show thanks to your service. I cannot believe that the German TV authorities wish to deprive overseas viewers from watching!

I would like to have your answer to send to the members of my Facebook show jumping Group http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=74727460883 and users of the Horse and Hound Forum who are also wanting to watch the show.

Kind regards

Linda Briggs

Sorry forgot to mention the performance of Billy Birr and his new rider. What do others think?I think its a blooming good team horse, another who has got away, so to speak.

Cassio Rivetti is a very good jock. This week he has been placed almost everytime he has put a leg over a horse. The horse has gone extremely well for Cassio, the only time I have seen it jump as well was at the Global Champions Tour in Hamburg where William was 4th.

There must be the satisfaction of knowing you have produced such a horse, and that it is able to win on a World stage.Good publicity for the rest of the prefix stock.

Yes quite a week for Will F, with his Hickstead performance followed by Billy Birr providing such a good advert for the breeding & producing abilities of Will, Donal & Pippa. Incidentally I think the H & H report was slightly misleading about Billy Congo: Pip did indeed play a considerable part in his training, but when I first saw in in March 2007, Will was riding him in competition. Billy Birr would certainly have been on the shortlist for the European Championships this year, and with 20 days to go before the initial entries have to be made, Derek may have problems finding as many as 10 riders and 20 horses to name.

Equidia sucks IMO, I wouldn't recommend it as I've been pretty disappointed with it. They only show racing, never anything else live and the only eventing they show is 2 weeks after the actual event, and sometimes, it's only a tiny report (they only shew Lexington for about 30/ 45 mins...)

Will just have to watch French racing then!
Any rate, I need to listen to French people more for my language skills!!
I will certainly try FFE video service, thank you for that!
