So today is my horse (Bailey's) 21st Birthday and I think i've become soft.
I went out at lunch and brought him some carrot cake slices (Weight Watchers
) and decided on the way to the yard tonight that because it was his birthday, I was going to let him spend the night in his stable (he usually lives out but LOVES sleeping in his stable) with a big full haynet and two new likits for his likit ball. Lucky sod! Does anyone else treat their horses specially when it's there birthday?? Felt like I couldn't ignore his 21st 
To mark the 21st Birthday of the love of my life, I thought I'd put up a few photo's to show everyone just how perfect my little ginger cob is. Bailey is my first horse, and i've had him for around 18months. He's taught me so much about horses in such a small amount of time. He's taught me how to ride (and more importantly, how to stay on!!) he's taught me a lot about colic, choke and lameness, but more importantly he's shown me the true meaning of patience. Despite my fumblings and failings as a horse owner, he's always a true gentleman and even if he's the reason i'm on the floor, will always look to see if i'm ok. He's never lashed out, never bit, never kicked and is generally a dream to handle. When he's feeling fed up with waiting for me to painstakingly groom him, he simply sighs and puts his nose on my shoulder to ask me to hurry up. When I accidently trap his feathers in his brushing boots he just lifts his leg up to let me know it's sore. When i'm too rough brushing his mane, he lifts his head up to let me know it's not nice.
I would be lost without my little poppet and despite him now having to slow down due to arthritis, he'll be with me until the day god decides to take him back up to horsey heaven.

P.S -apologies if some piccies are huge, i'm useless with technology.
I'll stop being gushy now. All of those pictures were taken this year (about May onwards ....) he's still got it huh!!
