This has been an odd week. First we went to a huge get-together with loads of other horses: that was sort of fun, except the bit where my new rubber feet suddenly turned around on me in the mud (that was really scary, and the Carrot Lady flew right over my head (again)). I had to do lots of circles in the mud, which was bl**dy hard work, but I also got to stand in the sun and snooze lots, with a haynet for company.
Then, we didn't do much for a few days; just went walkabout in the woods.
The Carrot Lady was really happy with me for some reason, and kept going on about "ribbons". I think maybe she means those awful coloured flappy things they keep trying to put on my head whenever there's a get-together like the one last week. I have no idea why she thinks they're a good thing: she can have them all; I sure don't want them!
Then, she left me to my own devices for a few days, which was nice, because I had a lot of grazing to do. Except I don't get any carrots if she leaves me alone, which isn't so good.
Today, we went to see the Scary Chicken Flap Man again, and he shouted at us until the Carrot Lady made me trot and canter and trot and canter and trot and canter...I never knew what was coming; I had to be on my toes all the time. I was soaked by the time we were done! And she was in such a hurry, I was really tense from it. And she wasn't really happy either. I don't know why she was so flipped-out today!
She came back later today, and she had the syringe thing, the one with juice (!) in it. I love the syringe! I was really scared of it when she brought it the first time, but then I learned that there's juice (!) in it, and that's really really good!
I keep trying to grab it with my teeth so it won't go away, but after a few tugs-of-war, the Carrot Lady got wise to that, and now she puts it on the back of my tongue and squirts it in the back of my mouth.
Now here's where I'm a bit suspicious: altogether, I think I got four syringes today, but the third one, the third one, I think maybe it was different. Not horrible-different, but skinnier than the other ones, and not quite as tasty. Though it's hard to tell, because the fourth one arrived right away, and it definitely had juice in it. Have I been tricked somehow?? And why??
