I'm almost decided I think :) A big thank you to everyone who replied on my last thread.

I've narrowed it down to Adonnis or Legrande but I have questions. Both are stunning.

What colour would I get out of Legrande or Adonnis from a grey mare?

I know her sire is grey and other offspring of his I have seen have been grey too.

If she is not homozygous for the grey gene, with either stallions you would get a 50% chance that the foal would go grey.

I would need to know more about her base colour to give an idea of what she would produce.

2 very different stallions both with superb temperaments. It depends really what you want the resulting offspring to do. Legrande has VERY extravagant uphill paces and has proven he can jump. Adonnis is dressage bred to the core and has focused on that and so having not seen him jump could not say what that is like but have seen some very nice foal from him. What is it you are looking for the foal to do?

Thanks for your replies.

The foal would be concentrated on dressage to work up through the grades and the RC jumping etc. as a bit of an all-rounder to have some fun on. I'm not the bravest jumping so its never going to be more than 3'6-ish.

Basically I won't good hind leg action and reasonably compact as my mare is a bit slow behind and quite long. I also don't want a huge stallion as she is 17.1 and something around 16.2hh would be preferred but I'm not too bothered about this.

I'm trying to find out more about her parentage colours still......
